I know the content of this book by the title which talks about mothering in art. What interest me is the idea of “ patriarchal motherhood" , male depict a "good" mother as obedient, sacrificing character. Meanwhile when women become mothers, they do not fit in the traditional impression of mother created by patriarchy. A temper-less , loving , perfect mother after giving birth does not exist，most of them experienced postpartum depression，having bad temper due to variation of female hormones and body shaming. They also have to take care of the babies and breast feeding. In my artworks I really want to express stop putting so much standards on women, when a woman cries after carry a child, it does not mean she hate the baby, it’s just she think of herself.
